Sprayke at the 2026 Il Lombardia with Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort: Masnada in the breakaway for 160 km, Fancellu 19th

At the 120th edition of the “Race of the Falling Leaves,” the team sponsored by Sprayke was among the protagonists of the day

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Sprayke experienced Il Lombardia up close, the final Monument classic of the season, alongside Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort. Sprayke sponsors the team with its bicycle care and maintenance products.

A brutally hard race, won by a 20-year-old phenomenon

The route, from Bergamo to Como, covered 239 km with nine climbs and around 4,600 meters of elevation gain, featuring a new finishing circuit with a double ascent of San Fermo della Battaglia. The win went to Frenchman Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM Team), who triumphed solo and, at just 20, became the youngest winner in the race’s history. Enric Mas and Giulio Ciccone completed the podium.

The team raced as a protagonist at two different moments of the day:

  • Fausto Masnada joined the 14-rider breakaway that formed on the Selvino climb and animated the race for about 160 km, forcing the favorites’ teams to work to close the gap. As the team points out, this move also earned significant media exposure. Masnada, a native of Bergamo, knows this race well: he finished second in 2020.
  • Alessandro Fancellu, a rider from Como, made his move in the finale and finished 19th, inside the top 20 of one of the hardest and most prestigious races on the world calendar. Fancellu said that a top-20 finish was a result he would have gladly signed up for, though he regretted missing out on a top 10 on the final ascent of the Civiglio.

Sporting director Antonio Bevilacqua described the day as “a race as protagonists,” with Masnada in the breakaway and Fancellu in the top 20.

Sprayke behind the scenes

A race like Il Lombardia, with damp conditions and more than five hours in the saddle, tests the bikes as much as the riders. That is why the mechanics’ work was crucial, with Sprayke products by their side:

  • Lube 1, the chain lubricant, to keep the drivetrain smooth and efficient throughout the race;
  • Super Cleaner, the degreasing cleaner, to wash the bikes after the finish and get them ready for the next races.

Professional, eco-friendly products made for those who truly ride, from professionals to enthusiasts.

For Fancellu and his teammates, the season continues with the Giro del Veneto and the Veneto Classic. Sprayke will be by their side in these final races of the year as well.
